Honey bees in homes

Honey bees are considered beneficial insects due to their benefits as pollinators and producers of products such as honey and wax. Even though these beloved insects can be great, there are times when they can turn into pests. Listen to find out when honey bees can become a concern.

Robert Puckett

Dr. Robert Puckett is an Associate Professor and Extension Entomologist at Texas A&M University. Since graduate school, his research has primarily involved investigations of the biology, behavior, and management of invasive social insect species including red imported fire ants, tawny crazy ants, and Formosan subterranean termites. Additionally, he is engaged in research involving a wide variety of urban insect pests including bed bugs, cockroaches, flies, and ornamental pests.

JANET Hurley

I'm an Associate Certified Entomologist who specializes in integrated pest management (IPM) for schools with Texas A&M AgriLife Extension, Dallas, TX. My specialty is rodents and bats, but I have to know a little about all pests that can invade a building structure. I am an avid backyard gardener and dog owner.
